News > Atari Cuts Workforce By 20 Percent

May 2, 2007

In an attempt to reduce administrative costs, Atari will be cutting its workforce by approximately 20 percent, including administrative cuts of roughly 26 percent.

David Pierce, president and CEO of the company said that "We expect today's reorganisation will continue to reduce Atari's general and administrative cost," and "These actions, though difficult, are a significant first step in reorganising Atari and demonstrate our commitment to restoring shareholder value."

The proposed downsizing is to be completed by July 31, and will drop the workforce of 320 employees down into the 250-260 range.
