News > Blizzard is working on a "next-gen MMO"

April 27, 2007

As of yesterday, Blizzard has three new job openings listed on their website - all for a "next-gen MMO."  The specific positions available are "lead engine programmer," "lead tools programmer" and "lead technical artist."

It's been a while since we've seen anything from the Starcraft universe, and evidence (hope?) leads this writer to believe that the game in question may indeed be something along the lines of "World of Starcraft."  Blizzard announced yesterday that they will be revealing a new product next month, and they have also said that they plan to return to Starcraft with some future project.

Sounds like a good fit to me.
