News > Church of England Seeks Japan's Support
June 14, 2007
Yesterday, June 13th, the Church of England appealed to the citizens of the largely godless nation of Japan to join in the fight against Sony for allowing the Manchester Cathedral to be represented in Resistance: Fall of Man, a game whose development Sony had absolutely no part in.
Sony said Wednesday that the company had begun talks with the church regarding the matter. Rev. Rogers Govender contested that no such response has reached the church, and urged the people of Japan to "help us put pressure on Sony to respond."
I'm not sure Govender gets the picture. Japan could most likely care no less about this issue, considering a) the nation is mostly non-religious and b) "citizens" more than likely understand that the inclusion of the cathedral does little to no harm. The acts that are carried out inside the virtual cathedral consist of killing swarms of mutants in order to save the world.
Horrible, I know. Good thing Govender wants the game...pulled from store shelves?!
