News > Crytek Opens New Studio

May 21, 2007

The developer behind Far Cry and  Crysis has established a new studio in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.  This branch of the company is said by Crytek to exist in order to create non-FPS titles to compliment the company's high profile shooters.

"We think it's a great way to widen our horizons and develop for a new gaming genre while continuing our company's strategic growth and expansion," said Crytek's Avni Yerli.  "It is also an opportunity to leverage all the effort that our team has put into developing our propriety CryEngine 2 technology while building on our tradition of producing the highly innovative and creative kind of games for which we are known."

This new studio is already at work on a new project, unrelated to the "Cry" games.
