News > DK Bongo Blast Won't Use Bongos

April 19, 2007

It is interesting to think of Donkey Kong bongo games sans-bongo, but the upcoming Donkey Kong Bongo Blast on the Nintendo Wii will operate without necessity of the funky, musical controller.

This time around, DK and gang are involved in a racing fiasco with very Wii-centric controls.  Shaking both the Wii-mote and nunchuk moves forward.  If one is moved more vigorously than the other, the on-screen character will turn.  Lifting both parts of the controller will make him jump.  It's vaguely reminiscent of certain remote control cars, or even the Star Wars: Episode I Racer arcade game.

The game will feature multiplayer modes for up to four people, so come June 28th, here will be some wild arm-flailing game sessions going on - in Japan, at least.  There is no U.S. release date yet.
