May 10, 2007

According to Famitsu, the Nintendo DS lite has now sold through more than 10 million units in Japan.  In April alone, 702,844 little dual-screened delights found their way into consumers' hands, pockets, purses and backpacks in the land of the rising sun.  The nearest competitor in hardware sales was Nintendo's other money-maker - the Wii - with 287,722 units sold.

The DS Lite is a phenomenal success worldwide, as well, with sales eclipsing the 22 million mark.  When combined with the original DS, that number soars beyond 40 million.

Now, the only question that remains is when does the DS take the next step in its master plan to rule the world?
