According to a new press release, Electronic Arts has purchased yet another game development studio. This time its Utah-based Headgate Studios which was formed in 1992 and has worked with EA since 2000 on developing a number of projects, most notably all of the PC ports of Tiger Woood PGA Tour for the past several years (they also ported the game to the PS3 this year) along with Madden 07 for the PC and The Godfather for the PC. The press release states that Headgate will change its name to EA Salt Lake and will now concentrate on making games for Nintendo's Wii console. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
