News > Europe Likes the PS3. 1 Million Units Sold
June 9, 2007
Although sales of the PS3 may be somewhat lackluster in other territories, especially when compared to the competition, it seems the monolithic console is doing just fine over in Europe. It managed to reach the one million sold mark early last week in PAL territiory, and it did it faster than either the PS1 or the PS2.
"Early last week we went through the one million mark [with the] PS3. And we did that in nine and a half weeks," said SCEE CEO David Reeves. "That was faster than both PS2 and PSOne. And I think that the analysts out there will also realize that it's faster than our brothers and sisters in the competitive world."
I've said it before, but with all the negative press surrounding Sony, it is nice to see something going right for the company's games division.
