The widely popular Half-Life 2 mod, Garry’s Mod, is scheduled to have its first commercial release since it was created. Garry Newman, the creator of this mod, has decided to release his newest work (version 10) on steam for $9.95. The mod is planned for released this Wednesday the 29th and will be available for direct download from steam. If you like, you can also get this in a bundle with Counter-Strike: Source for $24.95, which isn’t a half bad deal. In this new update he built it from the ground up again and made sure that it was perfect to his liking. He included new things such as hover balls, hydraulics, a new spawn menu, and more. Once you purchase it, you keep the mod forever and will be able to download all the new updates and additions Mr. Newman makes through steam.
Garry’s Mod is a modification of Half-Life 2’s Source engine that allows you to totally change your game. You can spawn every item in HL2, change physics, pose things, have gravity guns, ropes, and so much more. It is definitely one of the most fun mods I have ever seen for a game and can keep me going for hours on end. Many people are going to bitch that a little mod is costing money but it is well worth it. This guy put a lot of time into this and included so many features, and he can’t waste all his time working for free. I would suggest that if you have never tried it out to definitely buy version 10 on Weds.
