News > God of War: Chains of Olympus To Run At 333 MHz
June 26, 2007
Hot on the heels of the recent announcement that PSP firmware 3.50 would allow developers to make use of the handheld's 333 MHz clock speed, God of War: Chains of Olympus has been confirmed to make use of the option.
Cory Barlog recently posted this tidbit on his blog:
"I hear that the official news about unlocking the PSP processor speed is out there. Many people are asking if God of War: Chains of Olympus is going to take advantage of this. The short answer is yes we are!
What's even more exciting is the fact that all of the game assets that have been released up to this point depict the game running at only 222 MHz, meaning the final product will likely look and run ever better.
Didier Malefant clarifies:
"EVERYTHING that was shown of "GoW: Chains of Olympus" so far was runing at 222Mhz like everyone else. We are planning on having the final game run at 333Mhz but this likely won't be just to improve the graphics which we think are already pretty awesome."
Sounds good to me, because Chains of Olympus is looking GOOD. Might it be the "killer app" that the PSP needs?
