Activision hass confirmed that Guitar Hero III will be coming to the Wii, 360, PS3 and PS2 this fall. Each console will have its own wireless controller, inspired by legendary guitar manufacturer Gibson's Les Paul and Kramer models. A new multiplayer battle mode will be featured, including online head-to-head rock-offs.
Possibly the most exciting news is that licenses are being acquired from many major record labels to allow the songs' original recordings to be in the game, rather than cover versions! Here's list of a few of the tracks that Harmonix has said will appear in the game:

• Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)
• Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)
• The Metal (by Tenacious D)
• My Name is Jonas (by Weezer)
• Knights of Cydonia (by Muse)
• Rock And Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss)
• School’s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
• Slow Ride (as made famous by Fog Hat)
• Cult of Personality (by Living Colour)
• Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)
