News > Hitman Movie Plot Revealed
April 25, 2007
As far as game-to-movie translations go, taking the Hitman series to the big screen definitely sounds like a good idea. As for the plot, does 47 simply go sneaking around choking people with fiber wire and poisoning their dinners? Well, no.
According to the official plot synopsis, Agent 47 finds himself mixed up in political takeover, and transforms from predator into prey. Interpol as well as the Russian military give chase as he attempts to unravel the story behind it all. His conscience (huh?) becomes his enemy, and he even experiences "unfamiliar emotions aroused in him by a beautiful, damaged girl…"
Agent 47 has a conscience AND a love interest?! Swordfish writer Skip Woods is really doing some character development, it seems. Maybe with Timothy Olyphant playing 47 (not exactly a dead-ringer), some liberties can be taken.
The Twentieth Century Fox film is currently being filmed in Sofia, Bulgaria, and will also shoot in South Africa, Istanbul, St. Petersburg and London, under director Xavier Gens.
