Howard Stringer is the Chairman and CEO of Sony Corporation, so when he discusses price cuts, it serves consumers to listen.  In an interview with the Financial Times, Stringer discussed the possibility of a PS3 price cut, stating that the company is still figuring out how much it could afford to reduce the price.  

“Nintendo Wii has been a successful enterprise, and a very good business model, compared with ours . . . because it’s cheaper,” said Stringer, “That  is what we are studying at the moment. That’s what we are trying to refine.”

Stinger also made mention of the averge Joe's desire to see a lower price tag on the the PS3. 

Yes, Mr. Stringer, much lower.
