News > J. Allard Loses Bet, Wears Dreads

May 8, 2007

Back in 2005, a bet was made.  N'Gai Croal of Newsweek bet J. Allard of Microsoft that the PSP would sell 10 million units faster than the Playstation 2 did.  Allard said there was no way, and the bet was on.

If the PSP failed beat the PS2, Croal would have to shave his dreads, but if it succeeded, Allard would have to wear dreads while on stage.

Winner: Croal and the PSP.

Allard even put this picture up on his MS bio page, saying "Hats off to Sony for outpacing the PS2 velocity with their PSP. Dreads on for N'Gai for calling it back in 2005. Figured it was only right to include both the dreads and PSP in the photo."
