News > Jaffe Forms Eat, Sleep, Play

July 30, 2007

God of War designer David Jaffe has announced that he will be leaving Sony to form his own development house called Eat, Sleep, Play.  The studio will be located in Utah, and will be headed up by Jaffe and Incognito's Scott Campell, who worked with Jaffe on the Twisted Metal series.

The two haven't quite leapt from the Sony nest, however, and have "signed on for a multi-year, multi-title deal to create titles for the PlayStation family of products, with the first slated for release in 2008."  Before that deal goes into effect, however Eat, Sleep, Play will be hard at work on a PS2 port of Twisted Metal: Head On.  It will feature new levels, better frame rate, and better resolution than the PSP original, and will be released this holiday season.

When asked for comment, Jaffe had this to say:

"We met with some other interested parties but at the end of the day, Sony is our home, our family, and we’re really thrilled and honored they wanted to work with us and continue the relationship we’ve spent almost fifteen years cultivating.  So in many ways, it’s like very little has changed, other than the pay cut."
