In Japan, last week’s Christmas shopping madness was all about Nintendo. They managed to sell 500,000 Nintendo DSs and around 300,000 Wiis. So far, Nintendo is looking to hit their goal of 1 million Wiis sold by years end while Zelda continues to struggle. Only 50,000 copies of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess were sold in Japan, I think. This Google Translated version of this page is a little hard to make out. It’s not hard to see Nintendo is just flat out dominating the market, covering 80 percent of the software market and 70 percent of the console hardware market.
