This week's Famitsu magazine has revealed Namco's plans for next gen Katamari goodness. Beautiful Katamari will be headed to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and is currently about 50% complete. No release date has been given as of yet.
This entry into the beloved series will feature over 50 playable characters, and the scale of things will be even more vast than before. There will even be online functionality, but so far no details have been given regarding that portion of the game.
Additionally, director Jun Moriwaki stated, "The Wii is also one of our platform choices. We would like to challenge with different interfaces such as the keyboard on a PC, or the touch pad on the DS. However, the controller for Wii is quite unique so being able to overcome the different issues will be the key."
Looks like Katamari may hit all three of the new consoles, after all. I imagine a Wii version could be really interesting, but we'll have to wait to find out about that one.
