News > Matt Groening Is The Final Boss

July 6, 2007

It looks like the new The Simpsons game from EA is looking so good that the series creator himself wants to get down - and will.

Matt Groening has announced that he will indeed be in the game.

"I'm a boss that you have to fight at the end of the game. It was really fun recording a million ways of dying, going 'UGGH, ARGGH, EUURGH!'" said Groening.

He also noted that the writing for the game is expected to be on the same level as the television show.

"Well the video game is mainly written by great writers, Matt Selman and Matt Warburton - I mean, you can just tell. Great, right? They did a send-up of videogames. It's a videogame about videogames; and I'm in the videogame."

What Mr. Groening means is that The Simpsons will aim to parody existing videogames, much like the films Scary Movie, Epic Movie, and Not Another Teen Movie have done with Hollywood.  It should be very interesting.  It'll be like the Simpsons' version of Mega 64!
