News > Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Title Explained

July 11, 2007

Today, at Nintendo's pre-E3 press event, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was on display for all to see, and we were finally given some insight into the reasoning behind the name "Corruption."

The game will feature something called "hyper mode," where Samus uses an extra energy tank to power up herself and her weapons, becoming even more bad ass than she was before.  If she stays in this mode for too long, however, she will become corrupted by the power.

So that's where the name came from.  As for the game itself, it looks very smooth and graphically superior to previous Primes, with what appears to be very interesting level design.

GameWad will have the full demo posted soon, in video form.
