News > Potential British Prime Minister A Gamer

June 30, 2007

Could Britain have a gamer, and generally tech-savvy political leader in the near future?  With any luck, yes.

British foreign secretary David Miliband is reportedly being groomed as a potential candidate for prime minister.  Miliband, who is known as "brains" in the in British political circles, is much like your average tech geek.  He has a Second Life avatar, he uses social networking site Facebook, and he is a blogger.

If Miliband manages to make it into office, it will likely be good news for gamers.  This sort of mind - our sort of mind - is what we need in power.  Backwards-thinking legislation is getting old fast.
