News > Prime 3 - No Online Multiplayer. Smash Bros Brawl - No E3

July 4, 2007

Nintendo fans, grab a tissue.  A one-two combination of crappy Nintendo news is coming your way.

First, Michael Kelbaugh of Retro Studios has confirmed that Metroid Prime 3 will abandon online multiplayer, instead focusing on devoting resources to "making a better single-player experience."

Second, the hotly anticipated Super Smash Bros Brawl will not be in playable form at this year's E3 Expo.  Nintendo will instead be showing off new "key" Wii titles.  I hope "key" doesn't really mean "broad-market" or "chock-full-o'-minigames-and-lacking-depth" sort of games.  At least the game will probably show up in some form, and new information will be revealed.
