News > Resident Evil 4 Wii-make Confirmed

April 4, 2007

It appears that the rumored mystery Resident Evil title in the works for the Nintendo Wii is indeed a Resident Evil 4 remake.  Blog-site Destructoid is reporting that the latest issue of Famitsu has not only confirmed the game's existence, but has also divulged a few details regarding its gameplay.

Tailored to the Wii, the control scheme allows gamers to aim with the wii-mote's infrared pointer, and make use of Leon's knife by swinging the controller.  Reloading is accomplished by holding the B-trigger and shaking the remote.  This information leads GameWad to believe that shooting is still done via the A button, rather than the gun-like trigger on the wii-mote.

As for bonus gameplay content, nothing new has yet been mentioned, but Wii-ers (am I allowed to say that?) will be treated to the Separate Ways campaign from the PS2 version of the gameand an Umbrella Chronicles trailer.

As for that game, Famitsu has revealed that it will take place on rails, from a first-person shooter perspective.  Remember Resident Evil: Dead Aim?  Well, I'm sorry.
