News > Resident Evil News on the Way?

March 27, 2007

Survival horror fans have a little something to be excited about. Capcom will be holding a press event on April 12th, where they are planning to divulge at least a little bit of information about the future of the franchise.

Really, the event is to discuss the titles that are in the works for 2007, which likely includes the Wii remake, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, and possibly Resident Evil 5. As of right now, however, RE5 seems tentatively set for release sometime in 2008 - or beyond. If that's the case, then maybe the much-anticipated sequel will be conspicuously absent from this event. Capcom USA's senior director of strategic planning and research, Christian Svensson hinted that one of the upcoming Resident Evil games will get some new details, and this writer has his money on Umbrella Chronicles.

Hey, at least we'll get some good Devil May Cry 4 info out of the deal.
