News > Sony Dropping BOMBS At Leipzig '07

July 20, 2007

Although we at GameWad feel as though Sony made the best showing of the big three at this year's E3, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) president David Reeves says that the best is yet to come.

According to the 80GB-bashing executive, Sony will let off the first of its peak season “fireworks” in Leipzig next month.  He said that multiple big announcements are to be made at the 2007 Games Convention, thereby "massively" increasing the appeal of Sony's videogame hardware units.

Reeves had this to say:

“We prefer to make our big statements in Leipzig, it suits us much better. Yes it has been a bit of a slow summer, but we feel that we have kept the momentum going.  There will be absolute fireworks at peak, that I can promise you. We will be doing things no-one has seen yet for both PS3 and PSP.”

So what could these huge announcements be?  PS3 price drop in Europe?   ANOTHER new SKU?  Brownie-making functionality?

Only about a month until we find out.
