News > Take Two and Jack Thompson Settle

April 20, 2007

Take Two and Jack Thompson have reached an agreement with one another other.  In an effort to avoid charges surrounding last year's Bully trial, Thompson has agreed to restrain himself from suing over Take Two's future titles.

This is great for Take Two, who can now carry on regular business without worrying about Thompson's pesky antics.  It's great for Thompson because he avoids potential jail time.

The settlement is a result of Take Two's preemptive suit against Thompson last month, attempting to stop the crusading lawyer from declaring GTA IV and Manhunt 2 public nuisances.  Sounds like good news for the publisher, but I would've loved to have seen Thompson serve time.
