News > Tomb Raider Anniversary On Xbox 360. Episodic.

June 18, 2007

Recently released on the PC and PS2, and coming to the PSP later this month, Tomb Raider Anniversary is an updated port of the original PS1 game, created to honor its 10th anniversary.  The new word from Eidos Interactive is that the game will also be released on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live - in episodic form.

The game will be broken down into four separate episodes; the first two will be available in September, and the third and fourth will be released "shortly afterwards."

Said Jane Cavanagh of parent company SCi, "We have created this version of Anniversary specifically for digital distribution as episodic content. This is part of our strategy to grow our presence in online and digital distribution as we believe there are huge growth opportunities arising from this delivery format and we intend to capitalize on the increasing demand for digitally downloaded content."

A normal retail version of the game will also be available "later in the year."
