News > VA Tech Meeting Panel Nixes Videogame Talk

June 12, 2007

In its third public hearing yesterday, the Virginia Tech Review Panel effectively ceased any additional banter about violent videogames as they relate to incidents such as the April 16th VA Tech shooting.

A representative of Lyndon LaRouche attempted to blame the shooting on violent videogames, although it had nothing to do with the interactive media.  Committee chair Col. Gerald Massengill quickly sent the representative packing, obviously not wanting to hear any more of the nonsense he was claiming.  The young man held the podium for less than three minutes.

The next meeting of the panel is scheduled for July 18th.
