News > Wii Blaster Ships June 26th
June 16, 2007
GameStop's website now lists the Wii Blaster with a ship date of 6/26/07. The Resident Evil 4 Wii-make comes out exactly one week earlier, on the 19th, so gamers will have a bit of a wait before using the two together.
The peripheral is made by Core Gamer, and houses both the Wii remote and the nunchuk for the price of $19.99.
I have trouble getting excited about this thing, for a few reasons. First of all, I control the analog stick with my left thumb, but I shoot guns with my right hand on the trigger, so already, the Wii Blaster is backwards. Second, imagine controlling a game using this thing. Take the RE4 controls, for example: squeeze gun barrel to aim; pull trigger to ready knife; press top of barrel to fire/swing; shake barrel to reload; run by pulling the trigger....
Sounds intuitive, no?
No...no it doesn't.
Maybe future games will make the Wii Blaster worthwhile, but as of right now, I just don't see the point.
