Murmurings that multiplayer classic Worms would show up on Xbox Live Arcade seemed to make an enormous amount of sense considering how tough it must be to shop a 2D-styled game on the retail market these days. Prayers have been answered, as developer Team 17 confirmed on their forums -- thanks NeoGAF -- that "the game is in final certification stages."
"Plans for announcements are being discussed with MS next week, hold tight. The game is in final certification stages btw, yes it's pretty much all finished apart from any last bugs they find. MS has a schedule of releases and we'll soon find out how we fit into that," said Martyn Brown, creative and studio director at Team 17 in the UK, on their message board.
Don't expect Worms before the end of the year; Microsoft distributed a vague release schedule on Monday and Worms was nowhere to be found. But, hey, it's coming and more information's hitting next week.
